MRMC Welcomes New General Surgeon at Moberly Specialty Group

Moberly Regional Medical Center (MRMC) Chief Executive Officer Brent Parsons announced John W. Roth, M.D., FACS, will join the medical staff August 13. Dr. Roth comes to MRMC from General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, where he has served as chief of surgical services line since August 2019.
Dr. Roth graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine with his medical degree. He then went to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., for an internship before starting his general surgery residency at Marshall University in Huntington, W.V.
Dr. Roth is trained to manage a broad spectrum of surgical conditions, and provides preoperative, operative, and postoperative care. Dr. Roth’s services include minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgeries, colorectal, biliary, breast, pediatric surgery, endoscopy, and more.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Roth joining the providers in Moberly Specialty Group,” Parsons said. “He will be a great asset to Moberly and North Central Missouri as he has a vast array of surgical skills and experiences.”
Prior to his time at GLWACH, Dr. Roth was a surgeon at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Surgical Specialists of Charlotte, Salem Township Hospital, Passavant Surgical Associates, Boone County Hospital, and General Surgery Associates in Moline, Ill.
Dr. Roth is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and American Medical Student Association.
