8/7/2026
Lindsey Vass, R.N., BSN, CCRN, at Moberly Regional Medical Center's intensive care unit, was recently recognized as MRMC's Nursing Excellence Award recipient.
This peer-nominated award was open to qualifying RNs and LPNs working in a direct patient care position who consistently demonstrate characteristics synonymous with nursing excellence. These characteristics include outstanding care, compassion, service and innovation, and reflect the efforts of someone who is a demonstrated team player and/or mentor to others, is a leader in times of crises, and who regularly promotes health in the community.
“Lindsey is an exceptional nurse who exemplifies our core values: We Put Patients First, We Work as a Team, We Never Settle, and We lead the Way,” her nomination form stated. “In her daily work, Lindsey provides compassionate, individualized care and consistently advocates for what is best for her patients. She ensures patients and their families are fully aware of their care by spending extra time addressing their needs.”
Since joining MRMC in 2021, Lindsey has been an integral part of the not only the intensive care unit team, but the entire nursing staff. Lindsey will assist in other units and roles including the emergency department, acute care unit and house supervisor.
“Lindsey demonstrates teamwork by maintaining a positive attitude, even during stressful situations,” her nomination form stated. “A few months ago, she volunteered to help the team in the emergency department to assist with an emergent baby delivery. She remained calm and collected during the stressful situation, helping the mother and team deliver a healthy baby, and staying at the bedside until the mother could be transported to a higher level of care.”
