1/15/2018
Moberly, Mo - January 12, 2018 - Moberly Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that the hospital has earned a 4-star rating with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Star Rating. CMS created the five-star rating system to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare hospitals more easily.
“MRMC is committed to providing safe, quality care for every patient. Our physicians, nurses and other clinicians work to continually improve care, and measurement helps us identify progress and opportunities to further improve,” explained MRMC CEO Ranee Brayton, “This 4-star rating is a testament to the diligent work of everyone on the MRMC team. We are thrilled to be recognized for our excellent patient care.”
Consumers can find the rating system and data to compare area medical facilities on Hospital Compare (https://www.medicare.gov/hospitalcompare/search.html). According to the CMS website, “It reports information on quality measures for over 4,000 hospitals nationwide, including Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Centers and military hospitals. The website provides information for patients and caregivers on how well hospitals deliver care and encourages hospitals to improve the quality of care they provide. Users can compare performance across many common conditions.”
MRMC is dedicated to being a great place for patients to receive care and the caregivers are focused on providing personalized care that satisfies patients. MRMC has adopted numerous best practices related to communication and service to include: clinical hourly rounding, nurse leader rounding, and bedside shift report. MRMC provided intensive employee training on effective, evidence-based communication models and use of hourly nurse rounding.
“These actions and many others demonstrate our commitment to a path of continuous improvement. We are confident our ongoing efforts will be reflected in future CMS reports,” said Brayton.
