Moberly Regional Medical Center Kicks Off Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive to Support Christos Center Food Bank
3/3/2025
MOBERLY, MO, (March 3, 2025) – This week, Moberly Regional Medical Center kicks off its third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive benefitting Christos Center Food Bank in Moberly and is inviting community members to participate in this effort to fight hunger in the local area. Peanut butter is a sought after item for food banks because of its high nutritional value and long shelf life. Yet, it is one of the least donated items. The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive kicks off on March 3 and will run through March 28.
“Moberly Regional Medical Center obviously supports the patients who come through our doors, but we are also committed to supporting better health throughout our community,” said Michael Hall, CEO of Moberly Regional Medical Center.“The University of Missouri Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security estimates that nearly 14.2 percent of the residents in Randolph County are facing food insecurity, which has a profound impact on overall health and well-being. With the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive we can help a vital community organization reduce hunger in our area.”
MRMC invites Moberly and surrounding community members and businesses to help collect as much peanut butter (or other nutritious butters like almond butter or sunflower seed butter) to support the Christos Center. Plastic jar donations (no glass, please) may be dropped off at the MRMC main lobby between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Since MRMC staff members started the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive in 2023 to help address hunger in our community, they have collected 1,500 jars of peanut butter (and other nut butters) for the Christos Center. All of that peanut butter was donated by MRMC’S employees, board members and medical staff members.
