Moberly Regional Medical Center Appreciates Provider Team and Community
6/29/2022
After the recent Amtrak derailment, Moberly Regional Medical Center was overwhelmed and humbled by the generosity and sacrifices made by so many local and area organizations and members of Moberly and the surrounding communities. Extensive preparations are always in place for this type of event, and it is always unknown when those plans must be implemented. However, an event of such magnitude necessitated the need for Moberly and surrounding communities to collectively rise and address the challenge as a local community as well to provide care for 36 patients and assist 25 family members.
We are especially grateful for the generosity of Domino’s, Pizza Hut, and Wendy’s of Moberly and Morrison Food Service for helping to ensure our staff and visitors were well fed during the arduous time. Furthermore, through the collective efforts of the Randolph County Ministerial Alliance and area clergy members, Family Life Fellowship, Room at the Inn, Community Kitchen, First Chirstian Church of Moberly, Hils and Walmart pharmacies, and the numerous volunteers in the community, our essential staff and patients had support for lodging, transportation, supplies, medicine, meals, snacks and more. We also thank all of the area Ambulance Districts, Air-Evac LifeTeam, Randolph County Health Department, Moberly Fire Department, Randolph County Sheriff Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol for their assistance to our staff and our patients.
Last, but certainly not least, we extend our deep appreciation to those on our medical and employee staff who worked tirelessly and extended shifts to care for our patients. This dedication to their calling is inspiring.
The support we receive from businesses, organizations and citizens of Moberly and Randolph County is a constant reminder of the generosity of this community. We are always encouraged by your support and proud to work alongside you. And to those that remain affected and whose full recovery lies ahead, please know our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you. We are so proud of our team at MRMC and the generosity and resilience of our community — thank you all.
