Moberly Regional Medical Center Announces CEO

MOBERLY, Mo. – Benjamin (Ben) D. Hughes has been named Moberly Regional Medical Center’s (MRMC) new chief executive officer effective June 2, 2025.

“I'm looking forward to becoming part of the Moberly community and helping to continue the great work that happens every day at Moberly Regional Medical Center,” Hughes said.

Hughes joins MRMC from East Georgia Regional Medical Center (EGRMC) in Statesboro, Ga., where he has served as chief operations officer (COO) since September 2023. He brings more than 10 years of healthcare operations experience in executive leadership, quality, patient safety, service line expansion and more. During his time at EGRMC, he has served as executive lead for surgical services, cardiovascular services, endoscopy and GI services, radiology, pharmacy, laboratory and pain management. He also oversaw a $12 million operating room expansion and the conversion of new surgical services software for scheduling and data analysis.

Before joining EGRMC, Hughes was ACOO at Tulane Health System in New Orleans serving as the administrative and executive lead for the Lakeside Hospital campus, which is a 123 licensed-bed acute care facility. He was also instrumental in helping the hospital maintain its high standard of patient safety resulting in eight consecutive “A” Leapfrog Safety Grades. Prior to his COO role, his other roles at Tulane Health System included vice president of orthopedics and surgical services, directory of ambulatory clinics and practice manager for the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine. Prior to entering the healthcare industry, he was a vice president and marketing director for a corporation in Paducah, Ky.

Hughes earned his Master of Health Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans, a Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. He has been an active member of several community and civic organizations, and is excited to become involved in the Moberly community.
