Moberly Regional Medical Center To Collect Peanut Butter To Fight Hunger

Fourth Annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive Will Support the Christos Center of Moberly.
MOBERLY, Mo. – Moberly Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is working to fight hunger in the community by collecting peanut butter to donate to the Christos Center of Moberly. The fourth annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive starts on March 6 and will continue through March 29.
MRMC collects peanut butter because it is one of the least donated items even though it is high in nutritional value and is shelf stable.
“Every year, Moberly Regional Medical Center makes it a priority to give back to our community, and Jars of Love is one of our favorite ways to show that we care,” said Ben Hughes, MRMC CEO. “In our community, an estimated 14% of residents experience food insecurity, which can contribute to poor health. The Christos Center works to address hunger in our area and we are proud to support their efforts, one jar of peanut butter at a time.”
This year, MRMC has a goal to collect 1,000 jars of peanut butter and other nut butters for the Christos Center. MRMC invites other businesses and members of the community to participate in the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive by donating peanut butter. Donation bins will be located in the hospital main lobby, the hospital ER lobby, the Moberly Rural Health Clinic lobby, and the Chariton Valley Family Medicine lobby. Plastic jars (no glass) may also be shipped directly to the hospital at: MRMC, Attn: Marketing, 1515 Union Ave., Moberly, MO 65270.
This is the fourth year MRMC is holding the Jars of Love peanut butter drive. In the first three years, MRMC has collected more than 2,000 jars of peanut butter for the Christos Center to benefit members of Moberly and the surrounding communities.
