Moberly Regional Medical Center Earns an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
11/13/2025
Fall 2025 Safety Grade is a national recognition for commitment to patient safety.
Moberly Regional Medical Center (MRMC) earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Fall 2025 from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
"Safety is our number one priority for our patients and our employees, and I am extremely proud of our team for this accomplishment," said Ben Hughes, MRMC's chief executive officer. "Every staff member on the MRMC team is dedicated to people getting well and living healthier. It is our goal at Moberly Regional Medical Center each and every day to provide compassionate patient care in the safest possible environment.”
This national distinction celebrates Moberly Regional Medical Center’s achievements in prioritizing patient safety by protecting patients from preventable harm and errors. In addition to receiving the “A” Hospital Safety Grade, MRMC recently achieved five years without a hospital-acquired infection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) and three years without a hospital-acquired infection for catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI).
“At Moberly Regional Medical Center, we strive to deliver patient-centered care to every single patient every time,” said Daniel Gilbert, D.O., general surgeon and chief medical officer of MRMC. “Our hospital team is committed to patient safety, and I applaud each team member and medical staff member for their commitment to provide high quality care to our communities.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
“Earning an ‘A’ Grade means Moberly Regional Medical Center made a true commitment to put patient safety first,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We congratulate the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers that all had a role to play in this achievement.”
