MOBERLY, Mo. (April 14, 2021) - Moberly Regional Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Brent Parsons recently announced several employee awards. The 2020 Directors and Employee of the Year, a DAISY Award, and the March 2021 Employee of the Month were all recognized.
Gina Fuemmeler, PharmD, pharmacy director, was recognized as Clinical Director of 2020. Linda Schopp, compliance director and interim health information management director, was named the 2020 non-clinical director of the year. Samantha Thomas, RT(R)(CT)(BD), registered radiology technologist, was named 2020 Employee of the Year.
Fuemmeler has been at MRMC for five years. Prior to serving as pharmacy director, she was a staff pharmacist and interim pharmacy director. She is a member of the Stroke Team, the Safety Coach Champion Leader, a member of the Environment of Care Committee, a member of New Nurse Education, and Antimicrobial Stewardship Leader.
“I can’t express my deep appreciation of being chosen for the director of the year--it was truly an honor and great surprise to me,” Fuemmeler said. “I work with an amazing team, and I couldn’t be where I am today without them. MRMC is a one-of-a-kind hospital, and my favorite thing about working here is the patient-centered focus of patient safety and patient care.”
Schopp has served as the compliance director for seven years, but has been at MRMC since 1983. She serves on the Environment of Care Committee and Medical Executive Committee, and also leads compliance staff meetings.
“I feel so honored and humbled for being chosen for Non-Clinical Director of the Year,” Schopp said. “I count it a privilege to work at MRMC and feel blessed to work with such wonderful people.”
Thomas is a registered radiology technologist in radiology, computed tomography, and bone densitometry. She has worked at Moberly Diagnostics, MRMC’s outpatient imaging center, for 16 years.
“I am extremely honored to be selected as MRMC employee of the year,” Thomas said. “I work with some really great people, which makes coming to work every day fun. I really enjoy my profession in radiology as every day brings something new. Being able to work locally and take care of people in my community means a lot to me.”
