An Emergency Room is critical to the welfare of our whole community. If an emergency happens, we need to be prepared for anything, and here at Moberly Regional we are prepared with a first class staff and top-of-the-line facilities. Knowing how traumatic emergencies can be, we commit to go beyond just treatment. We care for you and your loved ones, not just as patients, but as our neighbors. What you can expect when you come to our Emergency Room:

• When you arrive, your condition is assessed by an ER nurse through a process called “triage”. If you are very ill or arrive by ambulance, you are taken to an exam room for treatment immediately.
• Your vital signs are taken during triage (temperature, heart rate, blood pressure), and you are asked about your symptoms, name, address, medical history, medications list and drug allergies.
• An ER physician will see patients with the most severe injuries or illnesses first.
• The ER physician examines you and evaluates your condition. Tests may be ordered such as as EKG, X-ray, lab work, or other diagnostic procedures as deemed necessary.
• The ER physician discusses your condition and treats you.
• You are admitted to the hospital if necessary.
• Upon leaving, you will be asked to present your insurance information. We will file your insurance claims and handle all the paperwork. In case you do not have insurance, we will expect payment for all services before you leave the hospital.
• We are your neighbors and are here to provide quality care to you as quickly and professionally as possible. While we make every effort to see patients in the order in which they arrive, the care being given to the critically ill or injured patients may cause delays for others.
