Moberly Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Christian Jones will take over the executive leadership of the hospital on August 15, 2011. As the new Chief Executive Officer Jones will succeed Stephen Lunn, who has taken the CEO position at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Jones is a familiar face at MRMC. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelor’s in Health Sciences. He then received his MBA from William Woods University in 2002 and then his MHA in 2006. While he was pursuing this educational tract he worked as the Medical Imaging Supervisor at Moberly Regional from 2001 – 2006. Chris was then promoted to Director of Medical Imaging and held that position for two more years. In early 2007, Chris was promoted to Administrative Specialist and was responsible for the administrative oversight of Medical Imaging, Pulmonary Medicine, EEG, EKG, Sleep Lab, Cardiovascular Ultrasound and the Cardiac Cath Lab. Because of his excellent work ethic and success as an Administrative Specialist, it was no surprise to anyone at MRMC that Chris became the Assistant Chief Executive Officer from February 2009 – April 2010.

Since April 2010 Chris Jones has been the Chief Operating Officer at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Illinois.

Chris has a rich history here at Moberly Regional and loves this hospital. This transition for him will be like a coming home as he is so familiar with the community and the residents here, the physicians on the medical staff, and already knows the majority of employees and volunteers at MRMC. His wife is also from the Moberly area,” states Stephen Lunn, CEO.

“We are thrilled to have an administrator of Chris’s experience and caliber leading the helm of our hometown hospital,” said Board Member, Jim Gardner. “He has just the right skills and leadership experience to meet the challenges of a growing community hospital in a rapidly-changing healthcare environment.”

Chris and his family will be relocating to the Moberly area in the next few days. He has two daughters and one son; Emily age 14, Haley age 12 and Chancelor age 21 who lives in the Kansas City area. Chris is married to Ashley who is originally from Moberly. Chris enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sports, photography, and landscaping.
